 Metal Working Fluid

Metal Working Fluids are utilized to “cool” and lubricate a metal’s surface during the machining process. By preventing heat buildup at the location where the metal is machined the finished product should be smooth and free of staining or distortion of the metal.

There are three distinct groups of metal working fluids which are vanishing oils, coolants, and straight oils; each of these groups may be subdivided by their base oil (mineral oil, vegetable oil, and synthetic) and their additives (anti-wear, rust inhibitors, polishing, and extreme pressure).

Two additional categories have been included in this group which are in-process coatings and miscellaneous materials (oils and additives) generally utilized in the metal working industry.

Since each machining application is different and unique, we strongly recommend the use of the recommendation form.

VANISHING OILS
Lubricates the metal then disappears eliminating the need for cleaning.

PureVan Series

STRAIGHT OILS
These cutting and forming oils are formulated to be utilized without dilution. They are intended for severe applications on difficult metals at high speeds. Straight oils are excellent in friction reduction and in rust protection, they are compounded with additives for wet-out, penetration, and extreme pressure characteristics.

Multipurpose Drawing
Extreme Pressure Drawing
Non-chlorinated Extreme Pressure Drawing Compounds
Synthetic Drawing Compounds
Blanking and Coining Oils
Grinding Oils
Honing Oils
Lapping Oils
Quenching Oils
Pad Oils
Roll Oils
Spindle Oils
Swiss Screw Oils
Screw Machine Oils
Tapping Oils
Wire Drawing Oils

COOLANTS
These cutting and forming fluids are diluted with water for greater savings and less disposal costs. Coolants are utilized for lubricating and rust prevention during machining applications. Water-based coolants have twice the heat dissipating ability of oils but have less ability in  friction reduction and rust prevention.

Synthetic Grinding Coolant
Synthetic Sawing Coolant
Multi-Purpose Coolants (Non Chlorinated with Added Lubricity)
Extreme Pressure Coolants
Extreme Pressure Coolants - Chlorine Free
Synthetic Coolants

IN-PROCESS / STORAGE COATINGS
These coatings are utilized for temporary (less than 1 year) corrosion protection of metal surfaces from atmospheric conditions during manufacturing, storage, and transit.

Quick Drying
Water Based
Non-Drying
Drying Vegetable Oil Based

OTHER MATERIALS AND MISCELLANEOUS
These materials are utilized in the metal working industry on their own or as enhancements to other fluids. Oil conditioners, biocides, and additive enhancements for base oils, additive depleted cutting fluids, and used hydraulic oils.

Additive Packages - Transforms lesser oils into potent cutting / drawing oils with biocides and anti-foam additives.
