BlackLube
An inexpensive asphalt - petrolatum mixture with corrosion inhibitors, tack and extreme pressure additives. BlackLube offers excellent salt water resistance in submersed and splash zones while lubricating the wire rope. Available in six viscosities and as a solvent cut-back. Independent test results comparing BlackLube to other greases are available.

Recommended Applications: Mooring lines and marine lines, oil-field cables.

Polyseal 122 & 128
A 100% synthetic thermoplastic nondrying polymer incorporating corrosion inhibitors. Polyseal lubricants are available in five different viscosities. Polyseal 122 and 128 are incorporated into wire ropes during manufacture to prevent moisture penetration of the wire strands while providing twice the lubricity of most wire rope petroleum lubricants. The corrosion inhibitors provide moisture displacement and stability characteristics.

Polyseal 6, 24, & 32 maybe utilized as field dressings.

Recommended Applications: Fishing wires ropes, mooring lines, electromechanical umbilical armors, food grade machinery applications, control cables.

GriKo 18458
A petrolatum blend incorporating corrosion inhibitors and extreme pressure additives to meet the requirements of Mil-G-18458 Wire Rope and Exposed Gear Grease. Viscosity is a #2 NLGI grease.

Recommended Applications: Military applications requiring specification Mil-G-18458, running wire rope applications, open gear grease.

GriKo 2004  Post Tensioning Grease
Lithium complex grease formulated for corrosion protection in extreme marine environments and in the fabrication of cable stays. Excellent salt water resistance and submersion stability. Also meets the requirements of Mil-G-18458.

Recommended Application: Marine environments, Mil-G-18458 applications and manufacturing of cable stays.

PreLube 19 Grease
A thickened version of PreLube 19 allows for a heavy coating of the material in applications requiring it. It is an effective, environmental solution to replace the currently available wire rope greases on the market as a field dressing. Incorporates polymer technology to form a bond with the wire rope or other metal surfaces, creating a barrier against hostile atmospheric conditions; this provides superior protection against corrosion.

PreLube 19 Grease is available in several viscosities including the following:

PreLube 19 Grease 90,000 - 120,000 Cp at 77^oF
PreLube 19 WWW 85,000 - 110,000 Cp at 77^oF
PreLube 19HV 30,000 - 40,000 Cp at 77^oF

Recommended Applications: Manufacturing of guy wires and structural strand for standing applications. Over coating of standing lines and pendant lines in the field. Marine applications where a dry-to-the-touch, non-sheening film is desired.

SYNCAN
Synthetic-vegetable based grease formulated to be an environmentally safe biodegradable replacement for petroleum greases on running ropes and open gear applications. SYNCAN will not “run-off” or fling at higher temperatures, reduces friction between rapidly moving wires within the wire rope, reduces wire rope fatigue extending wire rope life.

SYNCAN is available in several viscosities (and may be custom blended to customer viscosity requirements) for different application requirements:

SYNCAN 1.5 NLGI at 77^oF
SYNCAN-80 75,000 - 85,000 Cp at 77^oF
SYNCAN-50 45,000 - 55,000 Cp at 77^oF
SYNCAN-30 25,000 - 35,000 Cp at 77^oF

Recommended Applications: SYNCAN 50 - pressure injected container crane ropes, SYNCAN grease - hand swabbed container crane wire ropes, crane wire ropes marine applications shipping and off-shore rigs, high-temperature applications, steel mill wire rope and open gear applications.

Z-53
Allows for a heavy coating of the PreLube 19 preservative lubricant’s corrosion inhibitors with zinc oxide to form an effective solution to replace lead and petroleum based greases for manufacturing and maintenance applications. Z-53 Grease may be utilized as a replacement for red lead paste.

Available with higher concentrations of zinc oxide:

Zinc Oxide Paste ASTM D-7986

Recommended Applications: Suspender wire ropes, marine applications, mooring lines.

GriKote Z-Complex 2C
Incorporates a blend of zinc oxide and zinc dust into a blend of corrosion inhibitors and a nondrying environmentally safe base. The inhibitors incorporated in the GriKote Z-Complex 2C will bond with the steel or galvanized surface to add an additional layer of protection. Anti-wear and extreme pressure additives have been added to this material for strain from service life. The multiple barrier system provided by GriKote Z-Complex 2C prevents all forms of corrosion caused by electrolytes (moisture) including: general corrosion, pitting, crevice corrosion, stress corrosion cracking and galvanic corrosion.

Recommended Applications: Severe corrosion resistant applications requiring zinc and zinc oxide protection of parallel wires and wire rope applications. Primarily utilized in bridge and underwater applications replacing lead materials. Note: Very heavy material - 25 pounds per gallon.

GriKote Z-Complex 2D
Incorporates a blend of zinc oxide and zinc dust into a blend of corrosion inhibitors. It utilizes the synergistic benefits of both zinc and zinc oxide, providing both galvanic and barrier protection. The inhibitors incorporated in the GriKote Z-Complex 2D will bond with the steel or galvanized surface to add an additional layer of protection. Coating dries to touch.
